Your masjid's data, kept simple
Masjid TV stores only your email, your masjid name, city and prayer-time settings. No ads, no tracking, nothing sold. If you set the TV up without internet, nothing is sent to us at all.
What we store
- Your account: your email address and a scrambled (hashed) version of your password. We can never read your password.
- Your masjid: its name, city, prayer-time settings, notices, events and any timetable you type in.
- Your TVs: a random ID for each TV, the time it last synced and the app version, so you can see whether a TV has your latest times.
What we do not do
- No advertising, no tracking pixels, no analytics profiles.
- We never sell or share your information.
- The TV app does not collect your location, contacts, photos or microphone.
Detecting your city
To pre-fill your city, the website looks up the approximate place of your internet address using the service ipwho.is. Your address is used only for that lookup and kept for up to 14 days as a cache; it is never linked to your name or email.
Using your location on this website
The “Use my location” button on the sign-up form asks your browser for your position once, only to find the nearest city in our list. The position is not sent to us; only the chosen city is.
Running the TV without internet
If you set the TV up with “Set up without internet”, nothing is sent to us. Everything stays on the TV.
Emails
We only email you when you ask for it, for example a password-reset link.
Deleting your data
Write to us from your account email and we will delete your account, masjids and TV records. TVs that were already set up keep working with the times saved on them.
Cookies
We use one cookie while you are signed in, to keep you signed in. It is removed when you sign out or close the browser. The website also stores a small copy of its pages on your device so it can open offline.
