How these times are worked out
Each time comes from the position of the sun at your city, the same way the Masjid TV app works it out on a masjid's screen. Fajr and Isha depend on how far the sun is below the horizon, and the angle differs between organisations, so choose the method your community follows. The usual method for your country is chosen for you.
Shafi'i or Hanafi Asr
Asr begins when an object's shadow is as long as the object (Shafi'i, Maliki and Hanbali), or twice as long (Hanafi). The Hanafi time is later.
Sri Lanka
For cities in Sri Lanka this page can show the official timetable of the All Ceylon Jamiyyathul Ulama (ACJU) for your zone. It is the timetable most Sri Lankan masjids follow, and the same every year.
Your local masjid comes first
Masjids often call the Azan a few minutes after the start time shown here, and they set their own Iqamah times. When in doubt, follow your local masjid.
