The prayer of Istikharah

The Prophet ﷺ taught asking Allah's guidance in all matters through two rak'ahs.

Narrated by Jabir ibn Abdullah

The Prophet ﷺ used to teach us istikharah in all matters as he taught us a surah of the Qur'an. He said: "When one of you is concerned about a matter, let him pray two rak'ahs other than the obligatory prayer, then say: O Allah, I seek Your guidance through Your knowledge, and I seek ability through Your power, and I ask You of Your great bounty ..."

Sahih al-Bukhari 6382
