About the Names

“Allah has ninety-nine names, one hundred less one. Whoever learns them by heart will enter Paradise.” (Sahih al-Bukhari 2736, Sahih Muslim 2677). The Qur'an says: “To Allah belong the most beautiful names, so call upon Him by them” (7:180).

The list on this page is the one narrated by at-Tirmidhi (3507). Scholars note that the list itself was added by a narrator, and that Allah has more names than these, but it is the list most Muslims learn.
