What Al-'Alim means
Al-'Alim means the All-Knowing, whose knowledge covers everything. He knows the past, the present and the future, what is seen and what is hidden, and even the thoughts in our hearts. Not a leaf falls without His knowledge (6:59). All the knowledge people have is only a small part of what He taught them.
