What Ad-Darr means
Ad-Darr means the One who can bring harm, by His will and wisdom. No harm reaches anyone except by His permission, and only He can remove it (6:17). This name teaches us not to fear any creature, because no one can harm us unless Allah allows it.

In the Qur'an
The name itself is not in the Qur'an as a name, but its meaning is, as in this verse.
Scholars advise saying this name only together with An-Nafi' (the One who brings benefit), so that it is understood with His wisdom and mercy, never alone.
Living by this name
Rely on Allah alone in fear and in sickness. The Prophet (peace be upon him) taught that if the whole world gathered to harm you, they could only harm you with what Allah has already written for you (at-Tirmidhi).
