What Al-Karim means
Al-Karim means the Most Generous and Noble. He gives before we ask, gives more than we ask, and forgives a great deal. He even writes a reward for a good deed that a person only intended to do (Bukhari, Muslim). The Qur'an asks: 'O human being, what has deceived you about your Lord, the Most Generous?' (82:6).

Living by this name
Be generous, and forgive people who wrong you. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said that your Lord is shy and generous, and does not send back empty the hands raised to Him (Abu Dawud, at-Tirmidhi). Pray: Ya Karim, do not turn me away empty-handed.
