What Al-Latif means
Al-Latif has two meanings. He knows the finest and most hidden details of everything. He is also the Most Kind and Gentle, bringing good to His servants in ways they often do not notice (42:19). A hardship can hide a mercy, as Prophet Yusuf (peace be upon him) said after his trials: 'My Lord is Kind in what He wills' (12:100).
